The dance of the rut and fall colors

November is an exceptional month to observe the chamois, our local mountain goat. It is a period of intense activity and competition among males. Come with me  in the Vaud Pre Alps to discretely observe the chase and dance they put on display. Along the way we will also enjoy the larches that still shine in the forest locally, listen to the songbirds of our local woods and talk about the fascinating geological history events in the area.

This is a longer version of the mid-week hike I do in early November. Take a picnic!
